Marrs Music Co. started back in the mid 1970's with a store front in the Madison Tennessee area providing steel guitar instruction , repair , parts , and the beginning of the Marrs Steel Guitar. Now , the store front is gone but Duane stayed busy innovating and improving repairs and building techniques. Duane incorporated his mechanical design into the renewing and restoration of old Sho-Bud guitars which eventually led to the design of the Show Pro Guitar with Jeff Surratt.

Sho-Bud Restoration

One of the services Duane Started was complete restoration of Sho-Bud Guitars. From refinishing of the cabinet by A.J Nelson {who worked at Sho-Bud when Duane Worked there} and a completely new mechanical system with triple raise triple lower fingers and new bell cranks with 9 adjustable holes that are used in the Marrs Guitar system as the replacement.It included cabinet re-inforcement, buffing the end plates, pedals and pedal bar , new fretboard if needed , but keeping the original pick-ups intact or replacing them with new pick-ups. If Sho-Bud were still in business today they might very well use the system that Duane has invented { since He helped build and design alot of the later model guitars for Sho-Bud }. The guitars that Duane and Jeff restored will be working for years to come. And for people that knew Duane they will be even more special.
